Highlights from “Exclusive Fan Meet Somkiat Chantra by Sittipol Group”
Energy and Inspiration from SC35
Fans who attended yesterday’s Exclusive Fan Meet Somkiat Chantra event were filled with energy and inspiration from Thailand’s world-class rider Somkiat “Kong” Chantra. His journey—from childhood in Pattaya to the world stage—is a story of dedication, sacrifice, and dreams pursued with absolute determination.
From Pattaya Kid to MotoGP Dream
Somkiat began racing at age 9, developed through Honda Racing School, competed in the Asia Talent Cup, and later moved to Europe for Junior GP under the guidance of Alberto Puig. He eventually secured a place in Moto2 in 2019 and achieved his first victories in 2022 (Indonesia) and 2023 (Japan).
Tough Challenges in MotoGP
Reaching MotoGP was his lifelong dream, but the journey was tough. Injuries—arm pump surgery and torn leg muscles—forced long recovery periods and delayed his progress.
New Chapter: World Superbike (WSBK)
Now competing in WSBK with Honda HRC, Somkiat is entering a new opportunity as the category moves closer to MotoGP-level electronics in 2026. His Jerez test times (P7 & P8) show strong potential, with podium ambitions set for next year.
The Power of Support
Sittipol Group continues to support him, with Mr. Thanong Leeissaranukul awarding him 1 million baht for his first MotoGP point. Somkiat thanked all Thai fans for their messages and motivation.
Never Stop Moving Forward
Despite obstacles, Somkiat’s passion remains unstoppable. His next goal: bring Thailand’s flag to the WSBK podium.
